All are loved by all the kids but lets be honest are definitely aimed at boys. We have been saying for years why not bring out some girlie sets. Well here they are and apart from the mini doll figures (I am not sure what to make of these yet) they are fab. The detail in the cafe set is great. I love the burger and the icecreams as well as the seating area and the condiments! The set was not difficult to build. My 5 year old daughter got it as a birthday present and herself and my 6 year old son made it with little or no help from me apart from the stickers. There is definitely alot of play value in this set. We have already added in some visitors in the form of various other minifigures and it will add in nicely with other city sets. I got this set a while back and I have never stopped enjoying playing with it. It's an easy build, including lots of great stickers and detail, like the large milkshake poster on the rare corner brick, or the brilliant new cash register. And it has some nice glass pieces so that the interior is light, plus some small rare neon bricks that go around the sign.

However, I think that the best feature of this set is that you can do loads of things with it, like Olivia's house. For instance, the cute mini hamburger: If you take out the fillings, the two 'bread' pieces left can be put together to make buns, or one of the 'bread' pieces can be used as a pancake. And you can change the fillings of the cupcakes, and the milkshakes. It also comes with a printed orange juice carton, knives and forks, rare plates, and a custard pie that comes from one of the minifigures series. This set is super, great play value, comes with two great new Friends figures, and is worth the money!!! The Lego Friends City Park Cafe is a fantastic addition to the Lego Friends universe. The model is highly detailed and features an indoor and outdoor eating area, a food service/preparation area, and a cash register. It also has an amazing number of accessories that help make play that much more dynamic. I purchased this set for my daughter, and this set always features prominently among other Friends sets.

The model itself has really interesting features, not the least of which is the curved roofline. The colour choices are fantastic, and gives the whole set a classic diner feel. Two of our favourite features are the milkshake serving machine and the gumball dispenser! The patio section is detached and can be added to some of the other free-floating Friends playsets to create great common areas. A beautiful set with lots of variety and a fantastic look! In our family we have three lego loving daughters, so we were happy to see these girl sets finally in the stores. I built this set with my five year old daughter today. When she was given the set, she hugged it. We had a fun time putting it together and she played with it a little while after. I am still trying to decide if I like the "ladyfigs", but both of my daughters like them already. I think it would have been fine to stay with the original minifigs. Its kind of annoying to have two different types of figures on the lego table.

I guess Lego did the research, not me! I do wish the pack of yellow accessories had been done in different colors. The silverware, pots, pans, mixer, plates are all of the same yellow and seem to be a cheaper plastic than the usual plates. Alltogether I am a happy camper! As a female adult fan of LEGO, I am very happy to see a proper LEGO set aimed at young girls. And I also enjoyed building the set for myself. I love the new dollfigs, they are tiny and cute with their big feet. I keep wanting to bend them backwards, but they won't do that. I was happy to discover that the dollfig feet work well with regular LEGO bricks, and I think they will be a welcome addition to the minifig line for many people. The finished set is attractive and should provide girls with many hours of fun. The yellow knives and forks with the cafe are "wow" and I also especially like the spatula and cake pan. There should be more places in the finished sets to store all these knives, forks, bowls, etc, though.

The perfectionist part of me requires a place to put them, and I expect many girls will feel the same way. One part I didn't like was the "cupcakes" - they don't properly hold the round 1x1 round "icing" pieces that go in them, so they fall out if you aren't careful when moving the set. The set is a good bit pricier for Canadians, so I rated the value for money down. Overall, though, I think this is going to be a fun set for girls and a great source for parts for adults. We bought this for my daughter (she has a twin brother who is a lego fanatic) for her 9th birthday yesterday, along with Olivia's house. She bought a few sets before her birthday with her Christmas money and decided she wanted more. She has been playing with it ALL DAY!! I just love this new series for girls. While I have the same thoughts as other reviewers (top of cupcake doesn't stay in place, no where to put the extra utensils, etc), it doesn't bother my daughter, so I won't complain. I do believe this set is priced just a little too high compared with the salon and the tree house.

We used some of my sons big base plates to set up her now growing community so it all stays together. It looks so sweet! We are very happy. On a whim this year for christmas I bought my daughter a set of legos in a pink box that she absoultely fell in love with. So for her birthday a week later (12/31) I came accross these lego friends legos. They are super cute and my now 10 year old is so excited she played with them the entire day putting them together, and playing with the little animals and dolls. In fact with with money from her birthday she also bought another set of them , the 3942. These are so great even my 6 year old is getting in on the action and so happy there is something now designed for girls specifically. We will be building her collection with these fantastic toys!! This is a great set! I love the detail. I took apart the cheeseburger and used the buns for pancakes and the brown pieces for sausage. I also took the umbrella and food from another set and added them in.

Pros: gumball machine, waitress, working lever on ice cream machine, $100 bill, curved windows Cons: It would have been great if the Friends had holes in their rears like the original Lego people. I also wish that the outdoor area was better attached. Overall, a lot of fun! My sister's Friends and my brother's policemen come here to eat all the time. it's nice to see LEGO is again attempting to produce products that address some things that have been lacking for girls. PLEASE change the design of the females to remove the bug eyes and eye-shadow look. Please show some respect for girls. Additionally, please add some more challenging models to your "girl" series. You are chasing away serious young female builders with the ridiculous-looking characters and lack of challenge in these sets. On the upside, we love the new colors and details! Our 8 year old girl loves to play legos with her brothers, but it has always been a challenge to find sets that she enjoys.
